Thrilled to see the lost map of 1822 York discovered in the Borthwick vaults! This photo shows the wood and iron water pipes around St Sampsons Square in red alongside the new Gas pipes in black. Attracted a lot of attention then and now! Fights between rival gas companies ensued

This shop in Dean Street in Soho is one of the few remaining examples in London of a Georgian shopfront, which are usually characterised by bay windows. It dates from 1791, was tastefully refurbished in 2011, and is Grade II listed.
